Flag Day

It's Flag Day! I thought a lot about what to post today.
Do I want to write something that expresses a little bit of my political viewpoint on patriotism and flag day? This would be quite easy...I'm known to be opinionated and despite the fact that I parle francais, I consider myself a patriotic chicky (that's for you Bink! hehehe) But....nah. Not today- it's too hot to drag out my soapbox.
Do I want to write something mushy and sentimental? This also would be easy, I'm a sentimental kinda girl and as previously mentioned- I consider myself a bit of a patriot. I openly admit that I get teary when I hear the Star Spangled Banner and ladies- I'm not a pretty crier...I didn't not put on my waterproof mascara this morning so Nah.
Do I just want to show off some of the numerous pictures I've snapped of our beautiful American flag for you? I have a bunch! I really, really do! But nah- not today.
I decided to keep it simple. So I'm giving you 1 picture. I fully expect you to be humming Your a Grand Old Flag!

So here it is...one of my favorite pictures of Old Glory

My hubby was walking along a lookout- a beautiful view- the valley below, the shockingly blue water in the distance and the American flag waving proudly in the gentle breeze above. As I took some candid shots of my hubby,a big gust of wind grabbed the flag and blew it down where it lay on my hubby's shoulders for about 30 seconds.  And then just like that- it was gone again. Back in the sky flying high. I mentioned I get teary. I did. Without going too much into our personal life- trying to stay private out in public ya know- what a perfectly precious pat on the back Old Glory handed him.

The whole inspiration of our life as a nation flows out from the waving folds of this banner. ~Author Unknown

I hope you are all displaying Old Glory proudly today.  Many blessings to you & Happy Flag Day!

Ha, I love the little shout-out to me. I've introduced MB to the old show Boston Legal and Denny Crane brings out the comments like I did on your fb.

The picture is amazing and I would have teared up too. You are amazing!
